Town of Bow: Part-Time Deputy Clerk/Tax Collector must be a resident of the Town of Bow
The Town of Bow is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Deputy Clerk/Collector. Working under the administrative direction of the City Clerk/Tax Collector, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Issuance of registrations, plates and titles of motor vehicles and boats;
Processing of civil status documents: marriage license, birth/death certificates
Maintain official municipal records;
Issue licenses, including Fish and Game; and,
Most importantly, the applicant must be a resident of Bow. The position of Deputy City Clerk/Tax Collector requires that potential candidates be self-sufficient, have excellent cash management and computer skills; possess excellent customer service skills, be highly organized and detail oriented in ensuring that transactions are handled efficiently and accurately and have good organizational skills. The deputy clerk/collector of taxes shall, in the absence of the clerk/collector of taxes, perform his duties, have the powers and be subject to the training, legal requirements and penalties applicable to the clerk/collector of taxes.
A high school diploma or GED is required, an associate’s degree in accounting or business preferred, with at least two years of related tax/clerical/customer service experience, or any combination equivalent education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.
This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with a salary range of $19.74 to $24.06 per hour. The work schedule is 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, although working days and hours may sometimes vary to accommodate staff shortages.
