The Milford Tax Collector’s Office reminds residents that taxes are due August 1
The July 1, 2022 installment (from the Big List 2021) is due no later than August 1, 2022. You have until August 1, 2022 to pay without penalty. Payment must be received by the Office of the Collector of Taxes or USPS/UPS/FedEx postmarked no later than August 1, 2022 to be considered timely. All bills (Property Tax, Sewer Use Fee, Motor Vehicle Tax, and Personal Property Tax) of $200.00 or less are due in full on July 1, 2022.

If you have not received a tax bill, please contact the tax collector at 203-783-3217. Under Connecticut general law, failure to receive an invoice does not exempt the taxpayer from paying all taxes, interest charges, and collection fees/costs. Interest is charged on all late payments by law, without exception. If the deposit is not paid on or before August 1, 2022, it is subject to interest at the legal rate of 1.5% per month, calculated from July 1, 2022, or at a minimum of 2.00 $, whichever is greater.

MAIL: Please send correct invoice coupon with payment to: Milford Tax Collector, PO Box 3025, Milford, CT 06460. To be on time, payment must be received, or USPS postmarked by August 1, 2022 If a receipt is required, include a stamped envelope addressed to you.
DROP BOX: Do NOT deposit cash payments. Indoor drop box available during business hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Outdoor drop box available 24/7 and located outside the Parsons Government Building on the sidewalk near the entrance to the tax office. Payments are time-stamped, secure and processed on time. No same day processing guarantee. Considered timely according to the date stamp. Payments submitted outside business hours will be received when the office reopens. Please ensure that payment is submitted by 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2022, otherwise payment will be considered late.

Motor vehicle information: Tax bills for July 1, 2022 reflect vehicle ownership as of the big list date 10/1/2021. The invoice covers the period from 01/10/2021 to 30/09/2022. If you have CANCELLED your vehicle license plate and no longer own the vehicle, please notify the ASSESSOR at 203-783-3215. The appraiser will require documented proof and determine if your vehicle is eligible for a re-appraisal. Then the tax collector will recalculate your bill based on the new assessment. The invoice is ALWAYS due before 08/01/22. (or you can pay your bill, and if you are entitled to an adjustment at a later date, then you may be entitled to a refund).
