Tax collector and DMV office on 98 in Brooksville closed for renovations

The Hernando County Tax Collector’s Driver’s License Office at 11319 Ponce De Leon Blvd/US 98 North, Brooksville, has been temporarily closed since December 30, 2021, according to a Hernando County government news release. The building is state owned, so the closures are due to state renovations to the building. Sally Daniel, CFC, Hernando County Tax Collector says the latest update she has received is that they hope to have the building up and running by May.

Brooksville DMV employees on 98 work at the other two locations and at the FLOW bus which is located outside the Brooksville Courthouse. This bus is provided by the State of Florida to assist in the issuance of limited driver licensing services, such as accreditation and identification services. The bus is located in the courthouse parking lot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. most days.
All driver’s license services will still be available at the Spring Hill office located at 7489 Forest Oaks Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34606. Only driver’s license authorizations are provided at
Courthouse location at 20 N. Main St – Room 112, Brooksville, FL 34601. Due to long wait times, the Hernando County Tax Collector is strongly encouraging payments for motor vehicle renewals and property taxes made online, by mail or placed in their Drop
Box.

Appointments are required for the following services at our Spring Hill office:
