Solano’s treasurer-collector will speak about taxes at a Rotary meeting

SUISUN CITY — Solano County Treasurer and Tax Collector Chuck Lomeli will speak Tuesday at the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Club on “County Tax Dollars: Collecting, Disbursement and Investment 101.”

Lomeli ran unopposed this year and will be entering his 25th year of service with the county as treasurer-tax collector-clerk. In this capacity, he oversees the investments of a county treasury pool of more than $1.6 billion and the billing and collection of property taxes for municipalities in the county.

In addition to his county responsibilities, Lomeli is a director and former chairman and president of CalTrust, a statewide joint powers authority responsible for investing more than $2.5 billion for more than 250 cities. , counties, agencies and districts of the state. Lomeli is a past president of the California Association of County Treasurers and Tax Collectors.
