Panel accepts overdue tax property offers | Local News

The county’s overdue tax committee approved the sale of 10 overdue real estate lots in the county at last week’s meeting.

The action will be forwarded to the Cumberland County Commission for review.

One company, Bluegrass Holdings, Inc., made an offer of $ 900 for nine lots, the majority of which are located at Fairfield Glade.

In the purchase proposal letter which included payment for the lots, the only signature on the offer reads “president”.

Nancy Hyder, 2nd District Commissioner and Chair of the Offenders Tax Committee, said: “At least we can put these lots back on the tax rolls.

The lots are located on Mountain Ash Dr., North Lake Trail, Motthaven Dr., Benwick Ct., Brummel Way, Fairhaven Dr., Lakeview Dr. and Lynhurst Dr.

Dave Hassler, 3rd District Commissioner, offered to accept the offer and allow the purchase. County Mayor Kenneth Carey Jr. seconded the motion with amendment to have the person identified by name and it was approved unanimously.

The other offer that was accepted was a $ 200 offer for a parcel of land on Essex Lane in Fairfield Glade. The offer was submitted by Sam Boyd.

Carey moved to accept the offer and allow the purchase. Hassler seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously.

Overdue Tax Committee Members Jack Davis, 5th District Commissioner; and Wendell Wilson, 6th District Commissioner, did not attend the meeting.
