County Treasurer and Tax Collector’s Office seeking to return over $ 700,000 –
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The office of the San Diego County Treasurer and Tax Collector is doing everything possible to raise $ 713,585 in county refunds with its rightful owners, he said on Tuesday.
Taxpayers can see if their name is on the list at sdttc.com.
âWith many people strapped for cash, returning that money to the citizens of San Diego,â said Treasurer-Collector Dan McAllister. “The average refund is $ 386, and that can go a long way for those who rightfully own it and need it.”
The tax collector’s office has 1,848 refunds available.
If you are owed money, follow the instructions on the unclaimed money page to file a refund request by December 17, before the money goes into the county general fund. You can email your request to [email protected] or call 1-877-829-4732 for more information. Anyone can sign up to receive emails when new lists of unclaimed money are published.

The smallest reimbursement amount available is $ 10 and the highest reimbursement amount is $ 36,699, owed to Fidelity National Title Co. Over the past five years, the office has reimbursed almost $ 520,000.
State law states that county money unclaimed for three years and unclaimed property tax refunds for four years must be paid into the county general fund.
